San Marcos: The New Dining Hot Spot!
Decoy Dockside Dining is the new two-story, lake-view restaurant and bar in San Marcos; the restaurant is a stunning part of the rehab of the Lakehouse Hotel & Resort; the 1,000 square-foot, indoor-outdoor bottom floor is called Dock Bar, where patrons can drink some craft cocktails and beers, plus casual bites like burgers, duck meatball banh mis, and ostrich empanadas.
The 8,000 square-foot dining room upstairs offers freshwater fish and game, largely cooked in a wood-burning oven. There’s also a wood-and-bronze private dining room.
The upstairs has fireplaces, images of wildlife, lake-faring paraphernalia, green velvet booths, and large-scale landscapes of forests and California redwoods. Blue velvet chairs dot the dining room. Over 300 buoys hang overhead in an art installation by Hollis Brand Culture.
We designed Decoy to blend with the beautiful and relaxing environment; patrons can sit at the floating lakefront bar for a refreshing drink or sit down for a chef-made meal in the dining area. With two dynamic floors of distinct decor and accompanying menus, you’ll enjoy the cool transition from our casual dockside bar downstairs to the allure of the Regal-Lodge-inspired dining atmosphere upstairs. However you choose to experience Decoy Dockside Dining, you’ll have a great time!
