“The park is thriving under current ownership, which has already invested several million dollars in improvements to help restore it as a treasure to San Diego,” said Lorie Zapf in a memo. Zapf is San Diego City Council member-elect for district 2. “I have been getting calls and emails from the Mission Beach community stating how pleased they are with the positive changes Pacifica has made to the park,” said Zapf in her memo, while addressing the Belmont Park lease negotiations between Pacifica Enterprises and the City of San Diego.

Belmont Park has undergone a dramatic transformation in the two years since Pacifica has been running the Mission Beach attraction; the park now sports new dining venues, a beefed-up midway and zip line, additional restrooms, and a rooftop community room with ocean views.
